Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GPS Method?

The GPS Method is a practical framework for preparing for the oral interview portion of the Luxembourgish Sproochentest. Instead of preparing around memorized scripts or predicted questions, you practice recognizing what a question is asking, answering it directly, adding relevant detail, and responding to follow-up questions.

1

A Luxembourgish language class teaches the language. GPS Luxembourgish focuses specifically on practicing for the Sproochentest oral interview.

The resources give you structured practice recognizing what questions are asking, building relevant spoken answers, responding to follow-ups, and working through complete written interview simulations.

GPS can be used alongside a language course, tutor, or independent study. It isn't a replacement for learning Luxembourgish—it gives you a way to apply the Luxembourgish you know to oral interview practice.

How is GPS Luxembourgish different from a Luxembourgish language class?

2

Which GPS resource should I start with?

3

These resources are for adults preparing for the oral interview portion of the Luxembourgish Sproochentest, whether you’re beginning your preparation, already taking a Luxembourgish course, working with a tutor, or practicing independently.

Who are these resources for?

4

Start with the Guide if you want to understand the GPS Method and develop a repeatable approach to unfamiliar questions.

Choose the Question Decoder Flash Cards if you want quick practice recognizing what a question is asking and how to approach your answer.

Choose the Workbook if you want structured exercises to practice using that approach out loud.

Choose an Interview Collection if you want complete written interview simulations with primary questions and follow-ups.

Choose an Individual Theme if you want additional focused practice on one Sproochentest theme.

Why do I need Sproochentest-specific practice?

5

Knowing Luxembourgish and responding to interview questions are related skills, but they aren't exactly the same thing.

In the oral interview, you need to understand what you're being asked, formulate a relevant response, and respond to follow-up questions without knowing exactly what will come next.

GPS resources give you structured opportunities to practice those skills rather than relying only on prepared answers.

What if I'm already taking a Luxembourgish class or working with a tutor?

6

You can use GPS alongside either one. Bring the questions, themes, and interview simulations into your speaking practice, or work through them independently between lessons.

The goal is to give you additional Sproochentest-focused practice without changing the way you're learning Luxembourgish.
